Our clergy plays an integral role in Temple Israel's history. And we were lucky to have welcomed new voices into our congregation throughout the years - clergy who would continue to further our mission, but with fresh perspectives on modern Jewish life.
Rabbi Harold Loss joined Temple Israel in 1971. We welcomed Rabbi Paul Yedwab in 1986, followed in 1995 by Rabbi Joshua Bennett. In 2000 Rabbi Marla Hornsten joined the Temple family, later followed by Cantor Neil Michaels in 2002. Rabbi Jennifer Kaluzny and Cantor Michael Smolash came on board in the summer of 2004 and in 2012, we rounded out our dynamic clergy with the addition of Rabbi Jennifer Lader.
The values and traditions cherished by our founding clergy members have been upheld at Temple Israel throughout the years. And the close relationship between congregation and clergy is at the core of who we are as a congregation.
