Temple Israel invites adult congregants to the exclusive Michigan premiere of #NOVA, followed by a clergy-led panel discussion with director Dan Peer and Eran Masas, Israeli first responder at Nova Festival*. The panel discussion will not begin earlier than 7:30pm, so those who are unable to sit through the film or choose not to are welcome to join for this second half of the program. 

The evening will be closed with a spiritual moment in memory of those lives lost since October 7th, the return of the hostages held in Gaza, and prayers for those impacted worldwide by the events of the day.

Please note that pre-registration is required for the entire evening (linked below) so that Temple can make appropriate plans and communicate logistical arrangements to attendees before the event. About #NOVA

Sometimes the only way to comprehend the truth, no matter how horrifying, is to look at it unblinkingly.

That’s the least that the October 7th invasion by Hamas demands.

After all, even after watching fleeting images shown on TV or social media, it is impossible to fully grasp the moment when the sound of rockets overtook the music, and scores of terrorists turned Israel’s Nova festival into a massacre: The thousands of party-goers racing in panic as Hamas fighters gleefully filmed the slaughter on their phones. Young people hunting for places to hide as they were pursued by armed Gazans. Terrified Israelis calling and texting their families... begging for help that didn’t come.

Now, Israeli filmmakers have given the world a way to experience those moments, having compiled real-time video and audio footage taken by more than 3,500 Nova attendees and by Hamas militants into a searing documentary film. #NOVA isn’t easy to watch. But "NEVER AGAIN" has no meaning if we avert our eyes.
