Blessings for Holidays

Shehecheyanu

The Shehecheyanu is a blessing that is said when something is done for the first time in a while. Some recite it when the experience is new after 30 days, while others recite it when it is the first experience of the year. For example, you could say this blessing when it snows for the first time this year!

Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech haolam, shehechehyanu, v'kiy'manu, v'higianu laz'man hazeh.

Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech haolam, shehechehyanu, v'kiy'manu, v'higianu laz'man hazeh.

Our praise to You, Eternal our God, Sovereign of all: for giving us life, sustaining us, and enabling us to reach this season.
