Your Help is urgently needed!
What? Temple Israel is joining with The Church of Latter-day Saints to repair Detroit after the floods. Removing water, mud, and drywall from 1,000 to 3,000 flooded homes in the greater Dearborn/Detroit area.
Who? Anyone turning 12 or older this year. Those under 16 should always be assigned to work with their parent or an assigned adult guardian.
When? Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 2, 3, and 4. For times, please see registration below.
Where? Please go to the Dearborn Ward building, located at 20201 Rotunda, Dearborn, MI 48124. There you will receive an assignment regarding where to go to assist in the cleanup.
How does it work? Upon arrival, you (and anyone traveling with you) will be assigned to a team of up to 10 people and will be given 2-3 houses to rescue.
What should I bring? If you can, please bring any of the following items that you have:

Gloves – highly recommended

Boots to be worn while working the in water and mud.

Hammers and/or crowbars to assist in removing drywall.

Sharp knives or razor type box cutters to cut through drywall.

Bottles of water to keep hydrated.

Snacks to maintain energy.

Long pants to wear while working in the homes (this will protect your legs from cuts and scratches.)

5-gallon buckets

Shovels
-
Rakes
-
Wheelbarrows
