About Us

Temple Israel Sisterhood’s Mission is to bring together all women of Temple Israel to serve our Temple, support our community and enrich our lives through personal growth and friendship.

We accomplish this mission through social and educational programs, fundraising, community service and involvement with the Women of Reform Judaism. Our activities, enhanced by the richness of our diversity, further our commitment to Jewish ideals, education, spirituality, social action and leadership development.

In addition to many annual events, the Sisterhood also runs Temple Israel's Gift Shop.  The Gift Shop sells beautiful pieces of Judaica, artwork and ritual objects, as well as books, jewelry and other gift items.  Our wonderful volunteer staff are eager to help you.

Sisterhood BingoLooking for a fun way to get involved?

Our Sisterhood organizes nursing home bingo games the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the West Bloomfield Nursing Center on Maple Road. This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to volunteer and brighten the day for others.

Our bingo dates for this year are 10/18/17, 11/15/17, *12/20/17, 1/17/18, 2/21/18, 3/21/18, 4/89/18, and 5/16/18.  Our volunteers first meet for lunch at Greek Islands Restaurant at 12:30 pm and then go to the nursing home from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The highlight of the year is the wonderful *holiday party we host in December. We enjoy Music, Potato Lakes and give the residents the beautiful lap blankets our members made during the year. The residents are so appreciative, it is truly a great time for all!
