Comparing European Jewish Cultures & Histories

University of Michigan Professor Zvi Gittelman will explore the countries and cultures of Yiddish-speaking and German-speaking Jews, from whom most of us descend-focusing on Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia (Austro-Hungarian Empire) and Germany.

ASK Program - Detroit Historical Museum Tour

Please join us on Tuesday, June 21 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Join us for a Detroit Memories and Moments tour of the Detroit Historical Museum.  We will begin with bagels at Temple Israel, board dthe bus for the museum, and return to Temple for lunch!

Cost: $20 members, $30 Non-members, includes Lunch.

Space is limited.  Priority reservations for Temple members by June 3.  Non-members may register after June 3.

Senior Day at the Detroit Institute of Arts - Senior Tour (55+)

Please join us on Thursday, August 4 from 11 am - 4:30 pm for our Senior Day at the DIA.  $10/members and $12/non-members

The Detroit Institute of Arts presents "Senior  Day at the DIA."  We will begin with lunch at Temple Israel, and then board the bus to the DIA.  A reception of baked goods and coffee will follow a docent led and self-guided tour through the collection.

Each class is $10 per session.

Game Day

Join us anytime from 11 am - 3 pm to play your favorite game....Canasta, Bridge, Mah Jongg, Pinochle, or Euchre.  You bring your friends and your favorite game....we will provide the tables and lunch will be served at noon.  There is a $7 charge per person.  Reservations and payment are required by the Monday prior to Game Day.

For all reservations received after Monday, the cost will be $14/ person.

What Every Couple Should Know Before and After Saying "I DO"

This is an exciting 3 week couple’s journey which will address topics such as:

• Growing from “I” into “We”.
• Essential skills for couples communication
• Understanding and practicing the “5 Love Languages”.
• The three stages of marriage.
• Strategies for fair fighting.
• Using Jewish ritual to strengthen your marriage.
